CHOOSE YOUR CIRCLE!

In 2022, evaluate the people in your circle. You have to be selfish about your time and who you give it to. Learn to choose your circle, not the other way around.

Not everybody who comes into your space, deserves the title of “friend”. You have to be okay with having just one or two or three friends. Or no friends at all.

No one wins an award for having the most friends. Your life is not a popularity contest. Guard your space and your energy with all your might because what you allow in it will determine what flows out of it.

Don’t be afraid to cut people off for good. If you notice that whenever you talk to a particular person, you always feel drained, tired and/or sad and miserable, that person is an energy drainer. Do well to keep a distance from them.

If you notice that your conversations with a particular person always gears towards maligning others or talking about other people’s shortcomings, pack your bags and go. Chances are that they are also talking ill about you to other people.

If you notice that you are unable to talk about your ambitions, hopes and plans with a “friend” because they either discourage you, laugh at you or try to reduce your ambitions to the insignificant musings of daydreamer, you’re better off without them.

Be intentional about the company you keep. You are the average of the five people you spend the most time with. Look at your circle critically and without emotion.

If there is someone in it who doesn’t look like they’re where you want to be, or on the same journey as you, hop off their bus and catch another.

This is not the time to play sentiments and become emotional about people. Shine your eyes and be wise.
