Hey, I’ve been tired of my business too, many, many times. It’s nothing to be embarrassed about. It happens to the best of us.
For me, I’ve almost quit OPEN many times lol. No joke though, Entrepreneurship is not for the faint of heart.
If it’s not social media algorithms today, it’s a blocked account. If it’s not poor sales even after you do all the right things, it’s a confused customer dragging you all over the place.
Sometimes it’s just the overwhelming amount of never-ending tasks, the brain fog, the underperforming content, the poor returns on certain investments, inability to pay for software thanks to the dollar spend limit on your Naira cards, terrible policies for business owners….the list is endless.
For some people, the best option is to close down your business and return to a 9-5.
There is nothing wrong with knowing that business is not for you, and that a 9-5 may offer more security and certainty.
For others, the best option may be to pivot to another industry.
If one isn’t working for you, you owe it to yourself to find out what actually works for you.
For others, it may be that you need to find out if you are truly connecting with the right audience with the right message and on the right platform.
If you are sure you are in the right niche but something just feels disconnected, it could be time to get the expertise of someone who understands how small businesses work, and ask them to do an audit of your business for you.
I have worked with many clients who felt they were doing everything right but still coming up short somewhere. By the time we did a business audit, we found where the issue lay and fix it. Once we fixed it, their business exploded.
Take a deep breathe, take a break away from your business if need be. You know, you can’t see the picture if you are in the frame.
Step away from the business and hire someone with fresh eyes to look at it for you. You never know, they might just see what you’re missing.
If you truly believe that your business is where you are meant to be, don’t give up on it.
You probably just need to find the spark and the joy again, and you will gain renewed vigour and motivation to keep pushing.
Whenever you feel like quitting, think about why you started and how many lives have been touched by you, and I hope that’s enough to keep you going.
Oh, and also remember to ask for help when you need it.
Talk soon.
