ARE YOU KILLING YOUR BUSINESS?

I had an experience recently that made me realise that many business owners are killing their business with their own hands and I will tell you how.

The knife you used to stab your business is ASSUMPTION.

You’re assuming that anybody who joins your Facebook Group or your Telegram or Whatsapp or buys your books, classes, courses and programs, already knows what you do.

You couldn’t be further from the truth.

Some people may join your platform or buy your product because the name sounds cool or the title makes some sense, but if you don’t constantly re-introduce yourself, you will lose potential customers.

In your Facebook Group “about” section and Instagram profile and Facebook bio, you must introduce yourself and state exactly what you help people with. And don’t be vague either.

If you’re a Copywriter for example, don’t go putting things like, “I create magic with words”. WTH does that even mean? (Forgive my language)

Instead, say, “I help business owners create sales copies that helps convert prospects into paying customers”.

See the difference? If you were in need of a copywriter, who would you hire? The person who sounds like a washed-out poet or the person who sounds like they know what you want?

So, again, don’t assume people will figure out your vague introductions or immediately assume what you do.

Constantly introduce yourself every chance you get. Repetition helps remembrance. The reason we remember those Television and Radio adverts from childhood is because of repetition.

If you’re a Nigerian and I start to sing, “kpa kpa, kpa kpa kpa, kpa kpa kpa kpa!”, you know exactly what comes next, right?

Ensure your brand message becomes the Milo (see what I did there? 🙂 ) of your industry.

Remember, repetition helps remembrance.
